95th Anniversary Of Accra Academy
Accra Academy celebrated its 95th Anniversary and Speech and Prize Giving Day on March 28, 2026, marking over nine decades of academic excellence. Held under the theme “Legacy of Pride, Purpose, and Achievement,” the event was sponsored by the 94th and 95th year groups and honored the school’s role in nurturing future leaders since 1931.
Ada Asafotumi Festival
The Asafotufiami Festival (also known as the Firing of Musketry Festival) is a major annual cultural event celebrated by the chiefs and people of the Ada Traditional Area in the Greater Accra Region. The Ada people belong to the broader Ga-Dangme ethnic group, and their festival shares deep historical resonance with other Ga-Dangme communities, reflecting their collective traits of fending off domination and forming strategic alliances.
Kloyosikplemi Grand Durbar At Yilo
The Kloyosikplemi Grand Durbar is the climax of the annual Kloyosikplemi festival, celebrated every November by the chiefs and people of Yilo Krobo (Somanya) in the Eastern Region of Ghana. The festival commemorates the forceful eviction of the Krobo people from their ancestral home on the Krobo Mountain by the British colonial government in 1892.
International Legacy Day Celebration 2025

Asere Mantse to set up education fund
THE Paramount Chief of Asere, a division of the Ga State, Nii Nikoi Olai Amashie III, has announced plans to set up an educational fund to support the development of the youth in his paramountcy.
Nii Amashie III said education was the catalyst for development and the best way to create opportunities for people to achieve their potential in life.
According to him, as future leaders of the country, the youth ought to be supported in all fields not just to achieve their aspirations in life but for the prosperity and development of the country.
